About Melanie
Hello! I’m Melanie (aka Mel). I’m the author of Agent Innocent: How the Secret Service Changed My Life and Advance Work: A Personal Protection Assignment.
When I was twenty-two, I became one of the youngest female Secret Service agents ever hired to date. Little did I know that my chaotic, dysfunctional, and demanding job was really teaching me how to protect myself - inside and out - while protecting others.
I had a lot of big life lessons to learn and a lot of growing up to do. I chose to learn from the past and start protecting myself. Today, I write and talk about how my unusual first full-time job showed me that I am worth protecting and I am stronger than my past mistakes.
